Behind the design

On July 12, 2026, Big Boy No. 4014 made its stop in Struthers, Ohio, bringing one of the most iconic steam locomotives ever built to the Mahoning Valley.

Built in 1941, Big Boy remains the world's largest operating steam locomotive and one of the most impressive feats of American engineering. America's Giant came through town, and this one marks the day.
