Behind the design

Schwebel's started in the small Campbell, Ohio kitchen of Dora and Joseph Schwebel, who baked fresh bread and sold the warm loaves door to door out of wicker laundry baskets.

Word spread about the delicious taste and unmatched freshness, and sales grew beyond their neighborhood to the surrounding areas, including the immigrant steelworkers in Youngstown. Soon deliveries moved to horses and wagons as the reputation spread far and wide. Youngstown born, Youngstown bread. Says it all.
